A 32-year-old pastor was arrested and charged with rape. It is alleged that he raped a 15-year-old girl and attempted to rape her friend at Tswime Mountain in Nzhelele earlier last month.

The pastor allegedly persuaded the two girls togo to the mountain during a church crusade at Dopeni Village a fortnight ago.

He allegedly told them that they were going to pray at the mountain during the night of the church service. The two young girls had attended the crusade at his church the night of the alleged rape.

He appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court a fortnight ago.

The case was postponed to 3 September and he is still in custody.
