DZWERANI – Police in Vuwani are investigating a case where a member of the South African National Defence Force was robbed of his service pistol and other belongings.
Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, spokesperson of the SAPS in the Far North, said the officer, who is 37 and attached to 15 SAI, was walking on foot at night in Dzwerani last weekend, when he met two unknown people, who robbed him of his service pistol, cellphone, wristwatch, trousers and running shoes before they stabbed him seven times.
The officer was said to be in serious condition at Tshilidzini Hospital at the time of going to press.
The police are still searching for the two suspects.
