There was a feast of goals when Zoutpansberg Powerline and newcomers Muraleni United Brothers played to 4-4 draw in their MMK Insurance match at Madabani on Sunday.

Powerline squandered three obvious chances within the first minutes. Jayson Maisha caused an upset when he dribbled past everyone and shot wide. Shortly afterwards, Vhutshilo Mafunisa hesitated for too long to unleash within the danger area of Brothers and he eventually lost possession. As if that was not good enough to stir up the team’s supporters, Dakalo Muhali committed a similar blunder moments thereafter.

Brothers were awarded a place kick in the 12th minute. Dakalo Tangananalo tried his luck from the set piece and the ball landed behind the net without any further touch. The celebrations of Brothers were cut short when the home team were awarded a penalty and Dakalo Mohale scored from the white spot.

Tsumbedzo Sekefa of the home team played rough against an opponent inside the penalty area and the referee, Mr Sonnyboy Netshiavha, pointed to the white spot. Muvhulawa Rambuda converted the penalty. The half-time score was 2-1 in favour of Brothers.

Early in the second half, Rendani ”Balo” Mathavha of Brothers increased the margin when he scored his team’s third goal. Powerline came back strongly in the last half. Rudzani Nebulu scored the second goal of his team, following a square pass from Tshifhiwa Netshisaulu.

Rendani Nembidzane of Brothers was cautioned with a card for a dangerous tackle. He tackled Dakalo Mohale off the ball and the referee was lenient enough to let him go with yellow. Mutshutshu Mbodi replaced Duncan Maringa and his first touch ended in a goal. Powerline scored two goals in quick succession late in the match when Rudzani Nebulu and Tshepo Ragima beat the keeper.
