A former agricultural officer and Kutama tribal council chairperson, Mr Daniel Ramuedzisi (72), was buried at the Madodonga cemetery on Saturday.
He passed away on 15 October at the MediClinic in Polokwane after a long illness.
He was started his primary education at Kutama Primary and in 1963 he completed a certificate in agriculture from the Tompie Seleka Agricultural Training College.
During the funeral, the speakers described Ramuedzisi as a loyal community servant. Vhamusanda Vho-Ntanganedzeni Kutama described him as a pioneer, a born leader and a man of vision. “He was real torch-bearer who never looked back under any circumstance,” one of the speakers said.
Mr Ramuedzisi was an advisor to the tribal council and, according to members of the council, he is a pillar that will be difficult to replace.
He was actively involved in the development of local football from the early seventies and a founder-member of Madodonga Limpopo Professionals.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
