Described as an African Narnia, Leshiba Wilderness on top of the Soutpansberg mountains is featured on the cover of November’s Getaway magazine.
In addition, Leshiba was also voted by Getaway as one of Africa’s top 10 eco-safari destinations.
This private game reserve, situated about 40km outside of Makhado (Louis Trichardt) on the Vivo-road, is a family-run mountain retreat that offers warm African hospitality. The reserve offers more than 380 indigenous tree species and abundant animal and bird life. There are also some ancient bushmen rock art sites to be found.
Being a member of Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa, Leshiba is committed to reducing the impact that they have on their local environment. According to the Eco Atlas Ethical Directory, they save water and electricity, recycle (glass, paper, tin, organic), support local businesses and products, are badger friendly, use renewable energy and follow a green design plan and fair practices.
“It was a big surprise for us to be nominated and be featured on the cover of the Bushveld’s Vogue,” said Leshiba’s management team about their achievement.
