TSHITEREKE - After waiting for six moths for the police to determine if the skull, which was discovered in September 28 last year, is the one of the late Mutshinyalo Grace Nephawe, the Tshivhase Youth Committee (TYC) and the community at large have decided to stage a protest march to the Area Commissioner's office in Sibasa last Friday.

The community handed a memorandum to the area Commissioner's office, where they demanded that the case of the late Nephawe should be withdrawn from the police and taken to the police's elite unit, the Scorpions. The community also demanded that the skull, which is believed to be that of Nephawe, should be given to them for a proper burial.

According to the TYC chairperson Tendani Lukhwareni, the community came to this decision because they have lost faith in the police officers who are investigating the case. They seem to be dragging their feet. The community gave the commissioner seven days to respond to their demands.

Mutshinyalo disappeared from her home sometime two years ago. Her headless body was then found near the Thathe Vondo Dam and her body was buried without a head. Many protest marches were staged by the community, with the support of traditional leaders and the PAC, demanding the speedy arrest of the suspects.

Although a suspect was arrested, he was released after the court found that there was not enough evidence to link him with the murder of Mutshinyalo.
