MAKHADO - A well-known pastor of Makhado will once again appear in the Dzanani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 15 April on charges of fraud.

Pastor Reuben Denga of Makhado, leader of the Charis Mission Church at Ha-Rabali, a branch of the Charis Church in Makwarela, was arrested early this year after he was allegedly found running an illegal investment scheme called Potential Investment. It is alleged that he had stolen more than R300 000 in cash from unsuspecting investors since starting it in 1997.

Some of his victims include well-known pastors, teachers, principals and other professionals who invested between R5 000 and R100 000 each.

According to a police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, the pastor allegedly told his clients that he was investing their money in the Stock Exchange.
