DOREEN – A suspected illegal immigrant is in a serious condition in the Polokwane Hospital, after he failed to take his own life, after killing his wife and two children.

Police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, said the 25-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife, Mashudu Sekwau (26) with a knife and their 5-year-old daughter, Elisa Chauke, and the two weeks-old girl, Rotondwa Chauke, who all died instantly after he cut their throats.

The suspect allegedly also tried to kill Rotondwa's twin brother, Mboniswa, before stabbing himself in the stomach. Mboniswa and his father were both admitted to the Polokwane hospital after the incident that occurred after a quarrel between the couple, about the suspected affair of the man and another woman on the farm. The incident happened shortly after midnight on Wednesday, May 21.
