MPHENI – The police at Waterval are searching for two unknown suspects who allegedly undressed and robbed a magistrate, attached to the Tshitale Magistrate’s Court, of a state vehicle, a bank card and money at Mpheni on July 1.
It is alleged that the two suspects, one of whom was armed with a firearm, took R2 000 in cash, a Nokia Cellphone, an Eskom card and bank cards. They undressed the magistrate and left him naked, before vanishing with a white government Nissan bakkie into the direction of Elim.
The police spokesperson in the Vhembe District, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, agreed that the two unknown thugs are still at large with the Nissan bakkie with the registration number GNB 409 N. “We are appealing to those who might have witnessed the incident to come forward with information that can lead us to the arrest of the perpetrators and recovery of the state vehicle” he said. He said that an armed robbery and an attempted murder case have been opened.
