CHAVANI – The promising life of young couple ended tragically on Good Friday when a young man stabbed his girlfriend to death before he did the same to himself.

Police spokesperson Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said a 25-year-old man stabbed his 21-year-old girlfriend during an argument over a child at the Rivoni Inn Motel. The incident happened at about 23:00.

On the other hand, Mutale police have opened a murder case following the killing of a 34-year-old man by a man who allegedly wanted the R10 he owed him. The incident happened on Good Friday at about 18:00 at Mutale. The man was still at large during the time of going to press while police urged the community to help them with information that can lead to his arrest.

In another incident, an unknown man was found lying unconscious with stab wounds on Friday night at Itsani, near Shayandima.

The man was taken to Tshilidzini Hospital where he died on Saturday morning. Police also appealed to the community to help with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in this case.
