Dolores Alma Pennells, more fondly known by her friends and family members as Delly Pennells, passed away at the age of 78 on Thursday, 17 April.
She was born in Cape Town on 13 August 1935. In 1955 she married Richard “Chips” Pennells and a year later the couple moved to the then Rhodesia. They lived in Bulawayo until 1975 when they decided to relocate to Louis Trichardt.
Delly was a resident of Louis Trichardt until her death two weeks ago and leaves behind many friend and family members in town. Among these count her two sons, Gavin and Howard, and their wives, Hermien and Linda. The grandchildren are Natalie, Chantel, Jessica, Donovan, Samantha and Tiffany and she also leaves behind one great-grandchild, Jennifer.
Delly’s memorial service was held in Louis Trichardt on the 22nd of April. She was buried at her family’s burial plot in Cape Town on the 24th of April.
“She will be remembered as a kind, loving and generous person and will be greatly missed by her family,” a member of the family stated this week.
