The newly constructed Thusong Service Centres for Wards 5 and 6 in Musina were officially handed to the residents by Cllr Fistos Mafela, the councillor who is responsible for infrastructure development in the Musina municipality.
The Nancefield Ext 7 (commonly known as Campbell) Thusong Service Centre was constructed at a total cost of R2,2 million and the Nancefield Ext 8 (Matswale) centre cost R1,2 million. Both centres consist of offices, fencing, a parking area and ablution facilities.
When handing over the projects, Mafela stated that the Thusong Service Centres were "one-stop, integrated community-development centres. They will empower the poor and disadvantaged through access to information, services and resources from the government, non-governmental organizations, parastatals and business, enabling them to engage in government programmes for the improvement of their lives. The government´s vision for Thusong service centres is to provide every South African citizen with access to information and services within their place of residence with the purpose of improving the quality of their lives through integrated service delivery.”
After handing over the Thusong service centres, Mafela and his entourage proceeded to Nancefield Ext 8 (Matswale) to hand over the R1,3 million public park officially.
