LOUIS TRICHARDT – The acting town secretary of the Makhado Municipality, Mrs Susan du Toit, this week warned residents to be on the lookout for people posing as inspectors of the National Housing Board.

According to Mrs Du Toit, these people present themselves at construction sites and then purport that they do roof inspections, for which they require an inspection fee, to be paid on the spot. This, she said, is not the correct procedure.

She warned residents not to pay any such person until the matter has been cleared officially with the relevant authorities. In this regard, residents can phone the Makhado Municipality Town Engineer, Mr Lynn Sahli at Tel 516 0212.
