LOUIS TRICHARDT – An 18 year old youth appeared in court this week on a charge of attempted rape. The complainant is his 42 year old mother.

Both are from the Tshikota township and the alleged attempted rape took place in a shack which is their home.

According to a police report the youth arrived home just before midnight on Sunday, January 20th and demanded food. After he was allowed into the shack and given food, he allegedly undressed and demanded sex.

Neighbours came to the rescue when the mother shouted for help. They found the naked youth in a compromising position.

According to the neighbours he then took up his clothes, got dressed and ran away.

He was arrested the following day.
