LWAMONDO – The Vhembe District Municipality has put aside R2 million rand for the extension of classes at three different schools around the former Venda homeland.

The Technical Inspector, Mr Tshililo Timson Tshimangadzo, said the project will be implemented within this financial year and that the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) identified the schools.

The schools include Lwamondo Secondary School, Ntsumbedzeni Secondary School (Makhuvha) and Nyamuliwani Primary School at Tshaulu.

Consultants have been employed and the discomfort of the cold will be a thing of the past at these three schools.

The municipality also plans to build a multi-purpose centre at Ha-Makuya, the Mutale Fire Station and Malamulele dumping site.

The multi-purpose centre will render services to the departments of health, home affairs, labour and the police services.

Approximately 30 people will be employed per project and will receive training in a variety of jobs. The disaster committee's manager, Mr Tshidumbu Lalumbe said the fire station would be handed over to the municipality on June 30, 2003. There are three fire stations in the Vhembe District, at Musina, Thohoyandou and Louis Trichardt.
