Capricorn choir represent Limpopo in North West

THOHOYANDOU - The SAPS officers and community members choirs from Mopani, Capricorn, office of the Provincial Commissioner, Vhembe and Waterberg areas participated in the Police Music and Cultural Association (Polmusca) festival, which was held at the Thohoyandou Town Hall on Saturday.

The purpose of the event was to select the best choir, which will represent the province in the national police choir competitions at Mmabatho in North West on September 23.

The choir from the Capricorn area in Limpopo was selected as the best choir overall and will be representing the Province. This choir also scooped four trophies and R1 500 in cash.

The provincial chairperson of Polmusca, Sr Supt Motlafela Mojapelo, told Mirror that this is part of encouraging police officers and com-munity members to participate in music. It also enhances the concept of community policing. He also stated that music is therapeutic in life and is part of entertainment.

“I am delighted that the Capricorn choir performed well. It shows that this area will represent our province at a high level, because it won three categories. We as the Limpopo Province are proud of the winners.”
