MOPANI – A well-known businessman in the Segosese area, Mr Boy William Seshoka (60), was shot and killed by an unknown gunman last Friday night at about 22:00. According to the police spokesperson in the Mopani area, Capt Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased was relaxing with his wife on the veranda of their Sephukubwe village house when the incident occurred.
According to the police, the couple had decided to sit on the veranda, because it was very hot inside the house. While sitting there, four men emerged from the dark and stood in front of the couple. One of the men produced a firearm and started to shoot the lone man, without saying a word.
The statement indicates that the gunman fired five shots, killing him instantly. The killer and his three friends vanished into the surrounding bushes after the incident. Although the deceased had a huge amount of cash in his possession at the time of the shooting, the killers took nothing from him.
The motive of his killing was still a mystery while the search for the killers was still on at the time of going to press. The police have appealed to anyone who has information regarding the incident to contact them at the nearest police station saying they would treat any information with great confidentiality.
The deceased owned a series of shops around the Segosese area apart from several big farms that he has in the Vaalwater and Mooketsi areas. The date and venue for his burial were not yet known at the time of going to press.
