News  Date: 07 February 2003

MANYII – "We are proud to contribute towards the upgrading of our pupils' education facilities," said Norma Motsoahae, Anglo American's Programme Manager, when addressing SGB members and learners of Manyii Primary School during the handing over of R470 000 to the school a fortnight ago.

This substantial amount comes from the Anglo-American Chairman's Fund trustees and would be used to build five additional classrooms at Manyii Primary School. She said her company is committed to working hand in hand with communities through the Better Living Clean-up Campaign, which has created healthy surroundings.

According to the Headmaster, Dr NS Phaswana, the school has admitted about 800 pupils to date and has only six classrooms. "We are appealing to other businesspeople to assist in building the future of our historically disadvantaged communities," concluded Dr Phaswana.
