GIYANI – Dynamos deposited a full compliment of points into their league account following their 2-1 victory at the expense of Sundowns Football Club in a Castle Premiership match at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday.

Referee Simon Motau flashed the first yellow card to Timothy Nkosi, following an illegal tackle on Marco Mthembu. At that stage the game was 11 minutes old.

The team from Pretoria was the first to hit the target. Sipho Nunes caught the Dynamos keeper, Aime Kitenge off guard and unleashed a volley from the edge of the box. The struggle continued with the local lads pressing hard in search for the equalising goal. Their efforts paid dividends when Frank Makua hooked the ball into the net after a scramble within the box.

The Mopani outfit came close to scoring again when their Zambian goal poacher, Isaac Mumba's header was palmed away by goalkeeper Wandel Robinson for a corner kick. The visitors replaced Sipho Nunes with Alois Bunjira early in the last half.

Alex Bapela, the Sundowns midfielder was also booked for a tackle from behind on Gerald Mtshali. Sundowns brought on Paulos Masehe in the place of the weary Victor dos Santos. Masehe combined well with Simba Marumo at the front, but they could not find their way through the solid Dynamos defence.

The Dynamos captain, Lifa Qosha, went loose and tried his luck from the far left. The Sundowns keeper missed the ball and Isaac Mumba easily finished it off.

Dynamos used all their substitution chances. They later introduced Irvan Zwane and Sello Ledingwane for Joel Seroba and Isaac Mumba respectively.
