LOUIS TRICHARDT – A well-known pioneer of the Indian community and prominent businessman, Mr Ahmed Adam, passed away on Thursday, January 23 at the age of 88.
Mr Adam, of the A V Mohammed family, arrived in Louis Trichardt in 1925 at the age of eleven and joined his father in business. His father, trading as A V Mohammed & Sons, had been trading in Louis Trichardt from 1902. In 1980 he moved to the Eltivillas business centre where he traded with is four sons.
Mr Adam is survived by his wife, four sons (Yassim from McCoys, Solly from A V Mohammed, Abdully from Solly's Supermarket and Iqbal from Playboy Sports), two daughters, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family thanked the community for the support it gave them during Mr Adam's death. They expressed a special word of thanks to Dr Chaya, Dr Govind and Dr Ayob for their ongoing help.
