Body of woman dumped at Thathe Vondo

News  Date: 24 January 2003

NZHELELE – Thathe Vondo Plantation workers discovered the dead body of a 33-year-old woman, while pruning pine trees last Saturday.

Insp Ndidzulafhi Masiagwala of the SAPS stated that the deceased was Ms Shonisani Khangale of Gogogo Village in the Mutale area. She was found with several open wounds on the back and a knife was found next to her body.

The question, "Who killed Ms Shonisani?" was answered when police found the body of a 33-year-old man hanging from a tree at Khalavha the next day. According to Masiagwala the man who committed suicide was Mr Moses Tshitangoni Sibadela of Fondwe village. It is alleged that Ms Khangale, whose body was found in the Thathe Vondo Plantation, was his concubine.

His wife and three children survive Sibadela. According to Masiagwala, it seems as if Sibadela had killed his concubine, Shonisani, before he hanged himself, but investigations are still proceeding.

Another girl was found hanging at Thononda village last Saturday. The deceased was Ms Mulalo Nephawe (18) of Thononda village. She was a student at Ndweleni Secondary School.
