Programme for annual Soutpansberg Entrepreneurs Week

MAKHADO (LOUIS TRICHARDT) – The Soutpansberg Chamber of Commerce this week announced their programme for the annual Soutpansberg Entrepreneurs Week from 5 to 7 August.

The week will kick-off on Thursday, 5 August, with a career workshop for Grade 9 and 10 learners at the Reformed Church’s hall on the corner of Stubbs and Krogh Street, from 14:00 until 16:00.

On Friday, 6 August well-known motivational speaker Pierre Spies will hold a motivational talk at Louis Trichardt High School from 07:00 until 08:00. He will then hold a motivational talk for Grade 6 and 7 learners from local primary schools from 09:00 until 10:00 at the Reformed Church’s hall, after which he will address pupils from private schools and the general public from 11:00 until 12:00.

From 07:30 until 08:00 on the same day, the judges will enjoy a breakfast with local Rotarians. The guest speaker at this event will be Prof Van Vuuren. Prof Van Vuuren will also talk about entrepreneurship at two rural venues from 09:30 until 10:30 and from 11:30 until 12:30. Prof Van Vuuren will then provide entrepreneurs training for the top 50 best entrants in this year’s competition from 14:00 until 16:00, again at the Reformed Church’s hall. This will be followed by a dinner for chamber members, where Prof Van Vuuren will talk about entrepreneurship and business skills.

Saturday, August 7’s programme starts off with an entrepreneurs morning market at Café d’Art from 09:00 until 13:00. Children wishing to exhibit their goods can book stalls free of charge. Adult wishing to exhibit, however, will have to pay R25 per stall. Bookings should be made with Christel Leonard at Café d’Art at Tel (015) 516 5760. Live entertainment by Bulawayo Girls College.

Also starting at 09:00 will be several sporting activities such as golf, tennis, 4x4 rally and others. This will continue until 16:00. The entrepreneurs week will draw to a close later that same evening with the announcement of the winners in the different categories at the Bergwater Hotel from 18:30 until late.
