LOUIS TRICHARDT – The Louis Trichardt SAPS have high hopes of arresting two robbers who hijacked Mr Hanif Tulve's vehicle at gunpoint last Saturday. The incident occurred at Mr Tulve's home at 16A Jeppe Street in Louis Trichardt.
According to Insp Daniel Ndlovu of the Louis Trichardt SAPS, two unknown men approached Mr Hanif (35) and his friend just before the former could park his car in the yard. The two men then produced a firearm and instructed the occupants to get out of the car.
Mr Hanif had cash amounting to R50 000 inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. The two thugs took off in the car, leaving the two men behind. However, the vehicle was later found abandoned in Burger Street. According to Insp Ndlovu nothing had been taken from the vehicle except the R50 000.
At the time of going to Press, the two thugs were still at large. Members of the Public who might have information that could lead to the arrest of the two men are requested to contact their nearest Police Stations or Insp Daniel Ndlovu at 015 519 4300.
"I am appealing to all law abiding people not to carry large sums of money in their vehicles. They should rather deposit their money at the banks," Ndlovu said.
