SINTHUMULE – More than 80 families were left homeless around the Sinthumule and Kutama area, after a heavy storm destroyed their houses last Thursday afternoon.
Makhado Municipality supplied tents to those who were left homeless. The affected villages are Tshiozwi, Gogobole, Ramantsha, Muraleni, Makhitha, Zamenkomste, Madabani, Ravele and Muraleni. When Mirror's reporters visited some villages they found some of the storm victims without shelter.
Some of the corrugated roof was badly damaged and a number of the sheets, which were part of the roof, were missing. It was the second time in a short space of time that the villages around Sinthumule were hit by a storm. On 13 December people were left homeless at Tshiozwi, Madombidzha and Ravele.
Makhado Municipality PRO, Mr Peter Muleya, appealed to those whose houses were damaged by the storm to contact the headman to register their damage.
