News  Date: 21 January 2005

MBILWI - The academic record of Mbilwi Secondary School is still on top, after the school’s getting a 100% pass rate in the matriculation results that were released on December 29, 2004.

The Principal of Mbilwi, Mr Nditsheni Ramugondo, said there is no miracle at his school, but rather commitment from teachers and learners in their work. He admits that his school put the Limpopo Province on the map. Mr Ramugondo said there is no S-symbol at his school; all of the learners got exemptions.

He further revealed that 29 learners have passed with distinctions. Ramugondo confirmed that the school has this year admitted more than 1 000 learners and there is a shortage of stationery and furniture. He is happy as there are 12 classrooms that are under construction.

The Limpopo Province’s Grade 12 results are not as pleasing as in 2003; they got 72,9%, and in 2004, they got 69,9%.

Last year, 18 schools had a 100% pass rate in the Vhembe Region and in 2004, only 10 school had a 100% pass rate.
