MATSHAVHAWE - Villagers are still shocked, as a 36-year-old woman who was reported missing was found hanging from a tree at Matshavhawe-Magadani Village on Sunday. Police Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said the deceased disappeared as from Thursday and was found hanging with a towel around her neck, naked, with wounds all over her body. Her legs were tied with a tracksuit and her hands were tied together with a panty. This horrific death has shocked community members and most of the women are afraid to collect firewood in the mountain. The community fears that the women’s death could be a ritual murder. In December 2004, a granny was found ritually murdered in the bush at Matshavhawe Village. “The name of the deceased will be announced soon after her next of kin have been contacted,” said Mushavhanamadi.
