MAKHADO – While other couples were reviving their love on Valentine’s Day, Mrs Portia Mudzusi (28) appeared briefly at the Makhado Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing her husband, a policeman, over the weekend.
According to the police, a case of assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm had been laid against the injured cop’s wife. Insp Daniel Ndlovu, spokesperson of the Makhado SAPS, told Mirror that Insp Moses Mudzusi (34) was stabbed by his wife in his back after a heated argument between the two.
He said the incident happened on Sunday evening at the couple’s house at Makhado Park. “We heard that the victim drove to the Louis Trichardt Memorial Hospital. On his arrival, he was transferred to the Mankweng Hospital.”
The accused was released without bail and will again appear in court on March 2. We were unable to ascertain the condition of Insp Mudzusi at the time of going to press.
The police at Makhado also made a breakthrough in connection with the murder of Mr Takalani Lucky Mapusha at Schoemansdal last month. According to a spokesperson for the SAPS, the Makhado Police have arrested Matodzi David Rakhokha (30) in connection with the case.
Rakhokha appeared in the Makhado Regional Court on Tuesday. He was not asked to plead and the case was postponed to Tuesday, February 22.
