MAKHADO – The only chaplain at the Kutama-Sinthumule Maximum Security Prison, Mr Gabriel Tshabalala (42) is no more.

His wife found the clergyman in his bedroom with an electric cable around his neck last Wednesday at about 19:30. The reason for the untimely death of the chaplain is still unknown, but according to the local SAPS spokesperson, Insp Mbhazima Ndlovu, investigations are con-tinuing.

The chaplain was staying at 38 Mopani Street near Sonop cafe.

He confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened, following the shocking suicide of the chaplain. The funeral will be held at Nkowankowa on Saturday, 12 March.
