KHALAVHA - Three messengers of Khalavha Village recently dropped a bombshell when they announced their resignation following the acting chief’s alleged inability to lead the people.
The three, Messrs Mulfred Tshivhase and Sikhwari and Mrs Magau, have been reliable messengers of the late Chief Gilbert Tshivhase.
According to the community, many people are not satisfied with the leadership of the Chief. “In the tradition of the Vha-Venda, a Chief must be in his palace when people are discussing hot issues that are hindering progress in the village,” they said. “A Chief must take a resolution after members of the royal council officially submit the raised issues. What is baffling is that he always stays among the people in a ‘kangaroo court’ which is too far away from the ethics of traditional leadership,” they add.
Villagers said Thovhele Kennedy Tshivhase must step in and calm the situation. They said they need a more suitable candidate for the chieftaincy.
Musanda Abraham Ramugondo said he is aware of what is happening at Khalavha and the Tshivhase dynasty cannot tolerate bad things happening in its jurisdiction. “The Tshivhase Dynasty is still waiting for the Khalavha royal council to submit the name of a candidate chief,” Ramugondo said.
