WATERVAL – The Waterval Magistrate’s Court on Friday postponed the fraud case against the four persons who are linked with ID scams around Mpheni, through which illegal immigrants were getting testimonials that helped them to acquire South African identity documents.
The fraud case against the school principal of Tshimonela, Alfred Muila (51), two Home Affairs officials, Rangani Maluleke (41), Grace Mukwevho (48) and a clerk at Mpheni Tribal Office, Vincent Tambani (33) was postponed to May 24.
The four were arrested, together with Headman Frank Davhana of Mpheni, by the Thohoyandou Organised Crime Unit shortly after footage was screened on an SABC 3 Special Assignment programme. Davhana was later acquitted.
