The  20-year-old Matimba Innocent Baloyi was granted bail when he recently appeared in the Waterval Magistrate's Court in connection with a case of murder.

His case was postponed to 31 July for further investigation.

Baloyi was arrested after it was alleged that he had stabbed 30-year-old Rhulani Maluleke with a knife at Mbhokota village, near Elim. The incidently allegedly took place at around 03:00 on 30 May, along the footpath from a local tavern.

The residents were awakened by loud screams and cries and left their homes to find out what was wrong. They found Maluleke lying dead in a pool of blood.

Further information led to Baloyi's identification and eventual arrest.
