THOHOYANDOU - Thulamela Municipality launched its website in the Thohoyandou Town Hall on Tuesday.

According to Ms Alvinia Papo, State Information Technology Agency (SITA) Account Manager, all municipalities should have their own websites for communication and marketing. With the help of SITA, Mopani District Municipality, Belabela and Sikhukhune Municipality have already launched their websites.

“SITA is busy connecting Mohalakwena, Thabazimbi Lipelele Nkumbi and Capricorn Local Municipalities with websites,” said Papo. She thanked the Vhembe District for their interest in connecting Thulamela municipality with the rest of the world.

The Mayor of the Thulamela Municipality, Chief Thivhulawi Makumbane, said people will be able to access more information about the municipality through this website. Tourists will be able to know the number of tourism attractions in theThulamela municipality area.

The municipal manager of Thulamela, Mr Makonde Mathivha, said his municipality has taken a great step in marketing itself. “There are many events taking place in the Thulamela municipality and people will be able to know what is going on in the municipality through this website,” he said.
