Mudzunga is the new Miss Black Leopards

MAKHADO – A grade 10 pupil at Mbilwi Secondary School, Mudzunga Sumbana (17), was crowned the new Miss Black Leopards beauty queen during a glittering contest that was staged at the Makhado College of Education Hall last Saturday.

Her beauty has earned her prizes to the value of R15 000. Mudzunga was recently crowned the 2005 Miss Youth Thulamela during a contest that was held at the Tho-hoyandou Town Hall. Lerato Lephallo (16) from Naledi, Johannesburg is the first princess.

Lephallo is a Grade 11 pupil at the Thabo High School. She took home prizes to the value of R8 000. A resident of Maungani village, Ntombizodwa Nkhumeleni (21) is the 2nd princess. Ntombizodwa is a third-year BCom student at the University of Venda For Science and Technology.

It was not the first time for Ntombizodwa to be crowned a beauty queen. She is currently holding two titles, Miss Venda Plaza 2004 and Miss Univen Radio 2004.

Fourteen beautiful girls participated in the contest.

The Black Leopards players whose performance was outstanding during the past season were awarded during the ceremony. The contest was sponsored by Professional Insurance, Netshituni Bus Service, Mabirimisa Bus Service, Enos Bus Service, Robby’s Printers, Coca-cola Fortune, Spar Thohoyandou, I Models Makhado, Eshu Tech Makhado, Wedding Works Makhado, Faimac Business Enterprises, Vevisa Lodge, Nkabi’s Hair Saloon, Livhu’s Hair Saloon, Shayas Milling Company and Kanaka Bread.

The Shayandima-based Christ Worship House Church Choir entertained the guests throughout the ceremony.
