MUSINA – What started as a friendly meeting for drinks between a Malawian truck driver, aged 47, a South African citizen, and four illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe on Tuesday night, ended in violence on Wednesday morning.

According to the spokesperson of the Vhembe SAPS, Supt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, a South African citizen, together with the illegal foreigners, spent Tuesday night drinking with a Malawian truck driver in Musina. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a scuffle over a woman erupted amongst the men. It resulted in a fist fight and the truck driver was later shot in the head and neck.
