The principal of Frans Rasimphi Secondary School at Mukumbani near Thohoyandou, Mr  Ntshengedzeni Matodzi, expressed his appreciation for the recent visit of Cllr Grace Mahosi to the school.

“Our school obtained an 83.6% matric pass in 2015 and this happened through the commitment of both teachers and parents. We should work together to monitor our learners’ performance,” said Matodzi.

Mahosi added that the campaign of visiting local schools was aimed at providing the necessary resources to those who were in need.

“You are very fortunate because the government is providing free basic education to all, and as the municipality we offer bursaries to needy learners every year,” said Mahosi.

She further said learners must strive to achieve good results, despite the challenges that they came across. “Next year, we want to celebrate a 100% pass rate and that can only happen if you listen to your teachers and dedicate yourself to your studies,” she added.

In supporting the initiative, Nedbank and Vhembe Engineering Company donated school uniforms and stationery to various schools.
