MAKHADO – One of the region’s well-loved residents, Mrs Augusta da Silva Pessegueiro (77), passed away on August 24, following a vehicle accident.
Mrs Da Silva Pessegueiro spent the last six weeks of her life in intensive care, after being involved in a vehicle accident while on holiday in Madeira. Although everything was done to ensure a speedy recovery, her condition deteriorated. She is survived by her four children Eddie, Maria, Tina and Diolinda and her eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs Da Silva Pessegueiro came to Louis Trichardt with her late husband in 1970 and lived at Stubbs Street 28 until her death. Her husband, the late Mr Joao da Silva Pessegueiro, passed away in December 1991.
Mrs Da Silva Pessegueiro will be missed by family and friends. Her funeral took place on Saturday, September 10, at the local Catholic Church at 12:00. For more information, phone Eddie or Rosita at tel. (015) 516 0782.
Andries joined the Zoutpansberger and Limpopo Mirror in April 1993 as a darkroom assistant. Within a couple of months he moved over to the production side of the newspaper and eventually doubled as a reporter. In 1995 he left the newspaper group and travelled overseas for a couple of months. In 1996, Andries rejoined the Zoutpansberger as a reporter. In August 2002, he was appointed as News Editor of the Zoutpansberger, a position he holds until today.
