Madombidzha pensioner raped

MADOMBIDZHA - A pensioner (64) was raped in her home at Madombidzha Village last Thursday night.

According to a spokesperson of the police, the pensioner was fast asleep in her bedroom when she heard a knock at the door. The door was closed and she refused to open the door. The suspect allegedly broke the window and entered the house. He asked the victim about the whereabouts of his lover.

The suspect's lover is allegedly the younger sister of the woman. When she told the man that her sister was not there, he allegedly started to rape her. He then grabbed a television set and other items before he vanished into the dark.

The matter was reported to Tshilwavhusiku Police Station and the suspect was arrested on Friday. He was still to appear in court at the time of going to press.
