MAKHADO – Well-known resident Ms Jenny Eastwood passed away on the first day of spring after losing her battle against cancer.

Jenny grew up in Natal but spent many years abroad in Spain, England, and her beloved Ireland. She lived the last 15 years of her life in Louis Trichardt, where she leaves behind many friends who will miss her warmth, generosity and humour.

Jenny had many talents and interests including her love of animals, literature, painting, music and, above all, cooking. Her scrumptious parties were always memorable, the last of which she was planning shortly before she died. Her friends and sister went ahead and had it at her home on Saturday in her memory. They gathered to remember her extraordinary life, filled with laughter and friendship.

Jenny worked for many years at the Rivoni Institute for the Blind and was one of the founding staff of Ridgeway College, where she’s remembered fondly by her colleagues and the students. She will be sadly missed by her parents Mr and Mrs Buchan, her sister Anne Buchan, her dog Pip and her many friends.
