MUSINA – Zimbabwean cigarettes, valued at more than R900 000, together with two vehicles were confiscated when police arrested a 35-year-old male on a farm here on allegation of smuggling.
The arrest took place at the farm Twilight, to the east of Musina, after the police received information about illegal activities on the farm. Police found two boxes of Zimbabwean cigarettes in a Nissan bakkie and a Nissan truck.
During further investigation, more boxes were found stored in a room. A total of 280 boxes of cigarettes, with an estimated value of R994 000, were confiscated.
The arrested suspect will appear before the court soon. The police are still looking for another suspect who ran away when he saw the police vehicles coming.
