MAKHADO – The passing away of a very colourful and well-known resident of Levubu and Louis Trichardt, from 1945 until 1986, Jimmy Fuller, will be deeply felt by his many acquaintances here and elsewhere.
His last 15 years were lived in Alberton.
“I met Jimmy and his family in Louis Trichardt in 1972. As a devout Christian, he had a hard job of six years convincing met to join him as a believer in Christ,” says friend Desmond Allen. He adds: “I can say he was my spiritual father who led me to become a member of ‘Lede in Christus’ at the local church he built and supported with his lovely wife Kitty, whom he married in Durban.”
A great lover of music and an excellent orchestral drummer, Jimmy married Kitty, a singer, just before they went north in 1945 with the Army Entertainment Unit. At 82 years of age, Jimmy was still playing the drums in the Alberton church they attended. His drumsticks were crossed on the coffin at his burial.
Jimmy was a building contractor and remained exceptionally fit, jovial and exuberant up to his sudden death on September 12.
