Another Northern Province magistrate finds himself in trouble with the law.
Senior magistrate Ronald Shimange (47) appeared in the Pietersburg Regional Court again on Friday, in connection with charges of of fraud and theft. Bail of R10 000 was extended, and the case was postponed to March 25. A police spokesperson confirmed that the allegations were of a serious nature, but added that the formal charge sheet had not yet been finalised. Further investigations were continuing.
Last week, another magistrate appeared in court in connection with charges related to statutory rape.
