While many people are celebrating the sentencing of serial killer Godfrey Ndivhuwo Ntsieni to a lengthy imprisonment, the father of one of the victims is far from impressed.
Mr Azwimpheleli Ndou, father of Tshililo Ndou, one of the two children who were raped and
killed by Ntsieni, said he believed that other people had also been involved in his daughter's killing. Ndou, the elder brother of well-known boxer Phillip Ndou, said in an interview with Limpopo Mirror that a person who identified himself as "Rendani" visited him at this home on 1 May this year and confessed that he had been involved in the killing of his daughter.
"It was early in the morning when this "Rendani" told me he decided to confess since he has now repented after being baptized at the ZCC in Moria. I then called the police and civic members from my area, Golgotha, so that they could witness his confession," said Ndou.
Ndou alleges that one of the two police officers who came to his home tried to threaten Rendani, who later revealed the names of all the people who were involved in the killing. "This happened in the presence of civic members and two policemen," said a very emotional Ndou.
Ndou also alleged that one of the eight people who had supposedly participated in his daughter's killing had come to his home and made a confession. He added that Rendani had told him the plan to kill his daughter had been orchestrated "by a prophet at Khalavha and Tshilamba."
He said that he was concerned that the police were not doing anything with the information. "They say that Rendani is not a stable person in his mind. The same Rendani is appearing time and again in Ntsieni statements and testimony in court, but the police are still ignoring this," said Ndou.
Ndou said he would never have peace if Rendani were not arrested. To show his
frustration, Ndou burst out in court during the sentencing of Ntsieni at the Thohoyandou High Court on Friday.
Police spokesperson Maj Mashudu Malelo, however, said that the police did not deal with hearsay and only facts mattered for the police service. "As far as we understand,
Ntsieni has been sentenced and this case is closed."
Besides this, Ndou is adamant that Ntsieni's friends in crime are still roaming the streets. He also believes his life is under threat because there are cars that come and park next to his home for the whole night since Rendani confessed to him. "My daughter did not deserve to die. She also had a bright future ahead of her. She always told me that she wanted to be a doctor and I believed her, but now she is gone," said the emotional father.
Ntsieni was found guilty on the following charges: Murder and rape of a first-year agricultural science student, Ms Livhuwani Mmbodi (20) on 14 March; Tshililo Ndou (9) from Golgotha town was strangled and raped on 27 April; nursing science student Ms Shudufhadzani Thagisa (24) was attacked and hit with a brick on 26 May and she died in hospital in March 2015; Zwivhuya Mashau (8), a Grade 3 pupil at Nazarene School in Thohoyandou, was strangled and raped on 26 June, and Ms Brenda Ndove (45), a cleaner at Univen, was attacked and hit on the head with a brick and raped on 18 July. She died after the ordeal.
