The Siloam police have detained a 32-year-old man for allegedly chopping and killing a 27-year-old, pregnant woman at Tshivhilidulu a fortnight ago.

According to a source within the family, the surviving children witnessed the incident and they revealed to the police that it was their father who had killed their mother. The three children are now left orphaned.

The breakthrough of the police is still applauded by the people in the Nzhelele area. “We now need the police to investigate the Phidza case also, where three family members were butchered by an unknown suspect. They allege that the police are turning down information from the community.

They said they also need the police to investigate the Tshikombani case, where a single parent was chopped to death and her shack was burnt to the ground.

“Recently, a taxi boss, who was also a school principal, Mr Ramusetheli, was shot and killed by unknown suspects, and Siloam police must speed up their investigation,” they said.

Police Captain Mashudu Malelo said no stone will be left unturned. All these cases are under investigation and the public will be informed.
