Three women from Musina were allegedly raped in two separate cases on Thursday and on Friday last week.
A 32-year-old male appeared in court on Monday this week in connection with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl from Nancefield on Friday, January 27.
According to the police, the 16-year-old girl and her younger sister were walking home from town on Friday at about 23:00 when the suspect pulled up beside then and forced them into his vehicle. It is alleged that he then took them to his house where he raped the 16-year-old victim. He allegedly threatened to kill them if they told anybody about the inci-dent.
The 32-year-old suspect was released on R1 000 bail and will have to appear again on February 10.
In a separate incident it is alleged that two women, aged 21 and 28, were raped by an unknown suspect on Thursday, January 26.
According to the police, the two women were sleeping when they heard a noise outside at about 02:00. While they were looking through the window, they were grabbed by an unknown assailant who threatened them with a knife and raped them. The perpetrator then stole some shoes and cash and fled the scene.
The investigation continues and the police at Musina called on anybody with information about the incident to contact them.
