TSHILAPFENE – The Grace and Love School for the Handicapped will stage a disability awareness run next Saturday, September 4.
According to one of the organizers for the run, Mr Phanuel Phamphe, the run will be divided into two groups. The 10km group will start at the Matatshe Prison gate and end at the Grace and Love School at Tshilapfene village. Only youths and adults will be allowed to take part in the 10km category.
Veterans and masters will take part in the 5km group. The starting point for the 5km group will be Tshitereke Shopping Complex. They will use the same finishing point for the youth and adults.
According to Mr Phamphe, the registrations forms for the run are now available at the school. Phamphe has appealed to people who are interested in taking part in the run to ensure that their forms are accompanied by the registration fee when returning them. The registration fee is R15 for the youth, R10 for veterans and masters, and R25 for adults.
Phamphe further revealed that the run will also serve to alert the people about the presence of the school in the area, apart from its main aim, which is disability awareness. The school was established way back in 1999. According to Phamphe, the school has a total enrollment of 65 learners who rely on four teachers and four caregivers.
Apart from the cash prizes that will be dished out to the winners, all participants will be given certificates of participation. The run is sponsored by the Tshisaulu-based Aubs Motors and Diesel Centre.
More information regarding the run can be obtained by phoning Phamphe at Tel 072 573 1677 any time or Mashudu Rasiaga at 015-963 6450 during office hours.
