A leading and pioneer member of the local Muslim community of Makhado (Louis Trichardt), Mr Farouk Tayob Cassim, passed away on Saturday, May 27, after a bravely endured illness.
Born in Pietersburg in 1941, Mr Cassim moved to Louis Trichardt in 1949 and later established himself as a well-known businessman. He supported the less privileged in many ways. His dignified personality inspired the respect and esteem that he was held in by all those he associated with.
Mr Cassim was the owner of Rooiwinkel and Cassim Spares in Eltivillas and Louis Trichardt. He is survived by his mother, brother, wife, two sons, three daughters and 11 grandchildren.
“His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in his family and the community he served,” said the family.
