Two residents from Sherley Village, Natal Freddy Baloyi (35) and Judas Hlangwani (35), appeared in the District Court in Makhado (Louis Trichardt) on Tuesday, July 18, on a charge of murder.

Baloyi and Hlangwani were arrested after the murder of Mr Bigboy Matsheke at Cloud’s End farm on Thursday, July 6.

According to information available, the deceased got into an argument with one of the suspects. It is alleged Hlangwani assaulted Mr Matsheke with a slasher, which ultimately resulted in his death. It is further alleged that Baloyi was witness to the incident and helped to hide the body in nearby bushes.

The case against Baloyi and Hlangwani was postponed until August 1 for a bail application. The state has already indicated, however, that they will oppose bail.
