Former boxing champion Phillip “The Time Bomb” Ndou has found a new career as an actor.
Ndou, 29, has joined the fast growing SABC 2 Venda drama, Muvhango.
Ndou, who is also a commentator for SABC 2 boxing programme, Blow by Blow, left his job as a special trainer at Nick Durandt’s gym three weeks ago, after receiving the offer from Muvhango.
At Muvhango, Ndou will be the owner of a gym called Time Bomb, where there will be boxers training at his gym.
Initially, Ndou was supposed to be a trainer also called Time Bomb, who would be training boxers in someone’s gym.
However, the idea was changed after Ndou struggled with the script in that role which was going to give him the privilege of featuring more during the screening of Muvhango, unlike the role of the gym owner where he will not feature often.
Ndou confirms that he is busy shooting with Muvhango and he says he is happy about this move.
“Look, I am very excited about this offer! But there are more things that I am planning besides acting that I cannot disclose now,” says the excited Ndou.
Durandt, who had a father-and-son relationship with Ndou since the latter turned professional in 1996, confirms that: “Phillip left for acting in Muvhango and that his decision.”
