Approximately 200 Grade 12 learners from villages around Tshidongololwe in the Mutale Municipal area will now face their final examination with courage and pride.
This was after the local motivational speaker, Seth Mudzanani, lectured them with useful examination tips at Tshidongolowe Primary School last Sunday.
The much-awaited function is the brainchild of the helping hand of the Madzivhanani, Tshidingololwe & Tshithuthuni (MTT) Youth Development Focus. Formed earlier last year, MTT is aimed at assisting indigent learners in achieving their educational dreams despite their poor financial backgrounds.
When motivating the learners, Mudzanani said studying is a process that requires dedication, concentration and effective time management. "Learning is a structural process that involves surveying, reading, revising and consolidation of knowledge. Give yourself enough time to study because you will never succeed if you start studying only during examination time."
Mudzanani says learners must consult with their study aids to consolidate what they studied all year round. "It is time to take your notes, study guides and other material like corrections in your class work, text books and assignments, to revise. Make your mind map to aid your retention of the studied concepts and facts. It is very important that you provide time in a form of formal study timetable based on the examination timetable. The weight of the knowledge you already have for your subjects should help you draw up such a timetable. This will help you to obtain a better aggregate symbol."
Mudzanani advised learners to find cooperative learning groups for better results. "Consult your teachers if you feel there is something you don’t understand well. Focus on your educational achievements and avoid using any unusual sleeping stimulants."
One of the Grade 12 learners who benefited from the lecture, Ndinae Ndou, said she would obviously use the knowledge as a platform to passing her final exams.
