A 28-year-old man appeared in the Makhado (Louis Trichardt) magistrate’s court on Monday, January 15, on charges of armed robbery and rape.

It is alleged that the suspect, from Madombizha, confronted a 28-year-old woman with a knife at Eltivillas, while she was using the underpass along the N1 leading to the town. The suspect allegedly threatened the woman before raping her repeatedly.

The victim told police that the suspect also robbed her of R30 before running away.

The case against the man was postponed until Tuesday, February 20, pending further investigation.
